Review | Sara Happ x Lane Crawford Limited Edition Sparkling Grape Lip Scrub

Made it to my favourite lip scrubs in 2011 (HERE), the lip slip is hands down the most moisturizing lip balm I have ever used. Sara Happ is famous for their lip scrubs as well as lip "gel" in a container - the lip slip. They have been raved about by so many Hollywood celebrities.  Of course I didn't just believe the hype at the first glance but ever since I purchased my first Lip Slip from Sara Happ many years ago, I have been obsessed with their products.

With that being said, buying Sara Happ products in the US is undoubtedly a lot cheaper since the whole brand started in LA. However after years of fame, they have slowly migrated to other markets, and hello, even to Lane Crawford (department store in Hong Kong, website HERE).

How can I resist if it's claimed to be Sparkling Grape limited edition Sara Happ x Lane Crawford lip scrub?!
It is a sugary scrub with medium sized grains. What I usually do is to massage a generous amount onto the lips with a firm circular motion. The best thing I like about this scrub is that you just need to wipe away with a tissue. The next you notice is baby soft lips!

The taste of sparkling wine is just a gimmick but it totally sucked me it lol. Though to be really thankful I much more prefer spending the $30 on the lip slip. Its not a bad products but compared to so many awesome lip scrubs on the market (hello, lush? the body shop?), this is definitely not the winner.

Do you use any lip scrubs? Or home made any? If so, what do you recommend?

I have posted some daily life stuff on instagram so don't forget to follow me at winnietsuii
Hope you all are having a fantastic fathers day weekend xoxo

April Favorites! Armani + Color Tattoo + Baby Lips + Nars Laguna +Lancome Color Design

It has been awhile since last I did a monthly favourites post. I have so many products that I need to write about that I don't even know where to begin! To not overwhelm you all as a nice human being after all wtf, I am still keeping them to the minimum. These are really products that I use in the month of April on a day to day basis and they seriously have my love.

Giorgio Armani Designer Lift Foundation in 05
Hands down the best foundation I have come across for my skintype. I will have a separate review dedicated to this so I am not going to go into too much details now. Long story short it has a dewy finish (which I love!), lasts for >6 hours on my normal skin, does not have a white cast for photographs even with SPF20, and most importantly, glides on so smoothly and thin. It feel very comfortable to wear. It is just the foundation made in heaven for me.

Maybelline Color Tatto Cream Eyeshadow in Tough As Taupe
Tough as Taupe is a cool tone taupe with a little metallic sheen. Initially a color that is too "cool" for my skintone, I however really enjoy the formula of the product. It does not move or smudge (like tattoos, really!) This is perfect for work/school, something that you can just use alone once and be set for the rest of the (long) day. I will most likely go pick up Bad to Bronze for everyday use.

Maybelline Baby Lips Moisturizing Lip Balm in Energizing Orange & Anti-Oxidant Berry
Stupid me thought these were the colored ones (HERE). I have yet to try the colored ones despite hearing amazing things about them from the beauty community. I then realized these sans color ones aren't available in the US. Please correct me if I was wrong. They however are very moisturizing, not waxy (not my type) and would correct your lip's hyperpigmentation over time. I really like the overall scents and super moisturizing formula they offer. Oh, plus the affordable price since I go through my chapsticks as quick as shooting ETs with an laser gun wtf.

Rimmel Lasting Finish Powder Blush in 018 Pink Sorbet
From restraining myself from drugstore blushes for quite some time now, I had no regret in picking this blush for less than $2 when it went on sale at CVS. The packaging and brush that came with are undoubtedly just crap but the product itself is amazing. Its a coral pink with a sheen, tiny bit more pink than Nars Orgasm (another blush I cannot live without!) Its surprisingly lasts a good amount of time on me too. If I were to pick up only one drugstore blush for my life, this would be it.

Nars Laguna Bronzing Powder
When I am getting paler in life, my used-to-be favourite bronzer Benefit Hoola can sometimes be too dark for my everyday liking. Nars Laguna is one of those most raved about products in the cosmetics history with millions of reviews and swatches on Internet, I was actually quite hesitant to yet buy another Nars products that receives such high rankings. However you have once again done well Nars, Laguna is a smooth, non-shimmery, beige undertone bronzer that barely shows up on my NC25-30 skin. It does its job almost without noticing its existence. Its perfect for light to medium tone skin for contouring everyday. A full review with swatches will follow.

Hadanomy Collagen Cream
Full Review - HERE

Koji No.100 Accent Eyelash Curler
To sum it up with just one sentence, it is a half eyelash curler with open ended on both sides. It comes in super handy to combine real and fake lashes, since sometimes they don't fit in the regular eyelash curler, and thus minimize the risk of tearing the fake lashes from eyelids. Highly recommend it for people who often wear falsies.

Lancome Color Design Mix & Matte Lipstick in Stylista (Not shown in picture)
As Lancome describes, the Color Design line is for full, fade-free color in tempting textures with smooth ingredients that make the lips feel soft and comforted all day, I cannot agree more. Since when matte lipsticks can be so moisturizing, not dry out the lips and essentuate fine lines? Stylista is a matte dusty pink with the texture made in heaven. I rarely love a formula of a lipstick so much and am already planning to get more summer colors from the range.

OR, if you're lazy to read, here goes the video too haha

So that's it! I will be reviewing some of the products from this list later on. Hope you've found something you are interested in. What have you been loving lately?

NYC Lip Sliders Tinted Lip Balms + Belated November Favourites

NYC Lip Sliders Tinted Lip Balms in Sugar Baby, Sugar Angel & Sugar Fairy
and swatches
This review has been held off for awhile now because I have been using these so much on the go. They are either sitting in my car or my purse. For less than $3 a pop, these lip balms fit right in the category of lip products that I like - moisturizing like lip balms, pigmented and glossy like lipglosses.

Sugar BabySugar Angel & Sugar Fairy respectively

These can be applied either in a thin sheer layer as a clear lip balm or a thick later as a lipgloss. My lips are very pigmented so the photos above probably don't adjust the real pigmentation of these lip balms. I personally like Sugar Baby the most and in person it is also the color that shows up the most. For drier months I am quite hesitant to use lipsticks and these fit right in the category that is moisturizing yet has s slight tint of color.

Last but not least, if you haven't checked out my SUPER belated November Favourites yet...

Don't forget to check out my blog sale!! Most things are under $10 with free shipping in the US.
Please go to http://www.winnieblogsale.blogspot.com for more details. An actual review will be posted real soon (within this week). Hope everyone is having a fabulous weekend!

EOS Strawberry Sorbet Lip Balm

"eos lip balm is 95% organic, 100% natural, and paraben and petrolatum free. Packed with antioxidant-rich vitamin E, soothing shea butter and jojoba oil, eos keeps your lips moist, soft and sensationally smooth." - from EOS website.
Ingredients: Olea Europaea (Olive) Fruit Oil*, Beeswax (Cire D'abeille)*, Cocos Nucifera (Coconut) Oil*, Simmondsia Chinensis (Jojoba) Seed Oil*, Natural Flavor, Butyrospermum Parkii (Shea Butter)*, Stevia Rebaudiana Leaf/Stem Extract*, Tocopherol, Helianthus Annuus (Sunflower) Seed Oil*, Fragaria Vesca (Strawberry) Fruit Extract*, Limonene1, Linalool11Component of Natural Flavor. *Organic. Certified Organic by Oregon Tilth. Patent Pending.

Moisturizing, non-greasy, reasonably priced ($3.29 from Ulta), easy to find in my messy purse, even more, it's PINK! This Strawberry Sorbet smells (and tastes?) more artificial than other flavors I have tried - Read my review on Sweet Mint Here and Lemon Drop with SPF 15 Here.

Sweet Mint is still my favourite because of its minty sensation but this Strawberry Sorbet one is no doubt the first runner up. I am still on the hunt for the Limited Edition purple one. Let me know if you know where to hunt them down!

Say Aah It's Your Birthday! Say Aah I know You're Thirsty!

Okay, maybe it is not the best song to let everyone know it's my birthday today because it's not Thursday and I am definitely not thirsty (but hungry at the moment). So wish me a happy birthday if you haven't already *no shame greedy face.

Surprise... Surprise...
I am not doing anything special for my actual birthday since it lands on a Tuesday, besides sleeping for 13 hours straight and didn't go to work. My kindness told me not to bother my friends either. Nah, you know I am just joking right? True story was they were insane for the birthday dinner they had with me on Friday! As we were eating dinner at the Japanese fusion Restaurant Asana at Mandarin Oriental Hotel, two of them stole my key and ran to my apartment to decorate!! Of course I didn't find out until after dinner they asked to come to my apartment to chill. I was in awe and speechless when I saw the decoration and wine and champagne and cake. Nobody has never done anything like that to me before. So overwhelmed >< I have the best friends!!!

Look at my overly dramatic face-_-
The Next Morning / sorry it's so messy!
The next morning I woke up to this, well, more like one of the ribbons fell onto my face and woke me up :) The card they gave me is also amazing. It lights up when it's open, and the birthday song music will follow suit once I "blow" the candles. Pretty Cool *Miley Cyrus voice.

Baby also cooked me noodles and gave me a fruit cake it hit 12am midnight, but they look more like they're for ancestors -____-

I should have more pictures for the weekend but I am still waiting to get them. So as for now I am going to share what I have got instead (and will update later). I feel like the age of getting luxury gifts are gone now. Maybe getting money is harder these days (instead of spending my parents), I'd rather spend money eating out with a group of good friends then getting a limited edition Prada purse. I hope my memories do not build upon materials... But getting myself nothing for birthday isn't acceptable either wtf, So...

 What I got for myself:
1) Free People Lacey Top - Look at the details, who can resist?
2) Kiehls Lip Balm Pear -  I hated the original, but saw my friend using this one and fell in love with the smell. Review soon ^^
3) BCBG heels - It was just a urge of femininity to buy heels since I a trying to embrace my age positively instead of killing myself
4) F21 heels - These shoes freaking suck! To all of you out there, never ever buy heels from F21. Rather spend your $20 on twin lobsters in Chinatown. It's so hard to walk in! I have already worn them so have to keep them. I bought a pair of silicon paddings but can't figure out where to put them, anyone knows?

What I have received:
5) Gift from Sephora
6) Wine from friends - one bottle is gone and saving another one for this weekend. Yumm
7) Photo prints from my beloved younger brother - I have been dying to have these prints for ages. All taken by him. Aren't they amazing!? Can't wait to frame them.
8) Marc Jacobs iphone case
9) Links London Bracelet - Gifted by my best friend from Hong Kong. She has the regular version and gave me this mini version from the trip to New York last month. She said so we can match since we are apart ><

It's one of the most memorable birthdays I have had. I simply can't thank everyone enough for everything! It's nothing superficial but filled with love <3 *cries
Sorry for the lack of reviews. March maria just happens to clash with my birthday and my best friend Tedi is coming to visit me from Oregon on Thursday til Monday so if time allows more random life bits and bites will be posted. Hopefully if I wasn't killed by then, more reviews will be on the way!

Chanel Haul (Blush Duo Tweed Fuchsia, HydraMax Active Lip Care, Loose Powder, #12 Contour Brush Review)

All the deep colored lips and crazy Burgundy eyes don't really catch my eyes when browsing through all the catalogs for this winter. There has only been one thing that I couldn't get my mind off of - that is Tweed Fuchsia Tissages de Chanel Blush Duo featuring in the Chanel Holiday 2010 Collection.

Inspired by the iconic CHANEL tweed fabric, two contrasting shades of sheer cheek colour are delicately 'woven' with a subtle shimmering powder for a natural luminous glow. Ultra-soft texture is airy and light. $45

Look at how gorgeous the color is!

Its a deep pink and baby pink tweed golden shimmer patterned blush. On face it is a cotton pink with a slight blue undertone with super super fine shimmer that is barely noticeable. I went to a MAC counter and couldn't even find anything close to this, and for sure nothing identical to what it looks in the pan as  a BOMB gorgeous tweed!

Soft, supple and deeply moisturized, lips look sensuously plumped and perfectly smooth, with a beautiful satiny finish.*PFA: Polyfractioned Active. An ultra-pure, ultra-powerful ingredient created through an exclusive purification technique developed by CHANEL. $45

I am sure my lips will love me this winter!

POUDRE UNIVERSELLE LIBRE

NATURAL FINISH LOOSE POWDER

Ultra-soft loose powder provides sheer, light coverage with a soft matte finish, setting and perfecting makeup as it evens skin tone. Photo-reflective pigments help disguise imperfections without emphasizing lines. $52

At the moment I was going to pick up another MAC Select Sheer/Loose powder in a jar, I thought I would give the Chanel one a try. I was thinking getting another one from MAC because it is $30 cheaper than the Chanel one. When I opened the box of Chanel Loose Powder and I was like wait a second, why is it so heavy? I immediately compare the oz. and guess what? The Chanel loose powder actually contains nearly over 4x as much of the product than the MAC Loose Powder. (8g/0.28oz vs. 30g/1oz) What a great buy!

It gives a rather natural and smooth complexion on my face. My skin feels so smooth and silky. Most importantly, my T-zone area stays matte and after long hours of wear. LOVE it!

PINCEAU OMBRE CONTOUR

#12 CONTOUR SHADOW BRUSH

Perfect for blending shadow into the crease of the eye. 100% natural hair. $28

Just something I need to buy in replace to some old blending brushes I have for ages lol. I like long and sturdy metal handles instead of, say, wooden handles from Bobbi Brown, which I own most of my brushes from though they are super good quality.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

That's pretty much it! I absolutely love Chanel Makeup products but my budget was limited and I basically only spent it on the things I truly need. I was given the Ultra Correction Line Repair and a sample of N"5 to try. I am more than happy with my purchase.

Girls, what are your must-haves for this upcoming season?
