Hot Pot VIP Status

I am an extremely boring person when it comes to cooking. I like good food but am always too lazy to put any effort into what I cook. And what to complain when your other half appreciates the fact that you save the time prepping and cooking in the kitchen to actually do something meaningful with life, such as blogging?

Weirdest thing happened I have grown to love all soupy stuff. I basically eat anything in the soup form, besides mice and cats wtf. When I was in Beijing, my friend and I literally went to get hotpot everyday since it is sooooo cheap. Two of us would pay about US$6 a day and have a full table with pounds of meat, veggies, clear noodles...

Before we left for the States of course we had to take a picture with nothing famous but the ICON of the hotpot place we went to everyday LOL We went to often that later on they let us skip the line and have seats once we walked in *Hot Pot VIP Status*

Hot pot is the best invention in the human history. A good alternative is to have shabu shabu, one person per pot, if you think that it's gross to share one huge pot. But to be honest, everything would be cooked thoroughly in the pot before you eat. If you are worried, maybe you should think from the beginning -  why would you even agree to go get hotpot with someone who you don't want to share your life with wtf.

Okay enough talking, here is what I eat (almost everyday) -

If you are lazy like me of course you can use an instant soup base. 

Once its boiling, just throw in whatever you have in the fridge.

Protein from tofu, fiber from veggie,  iron from meat, little to almost no oil from the soup base. Finish your meal with some fruit. You are what you eat.

Living on my own, food is sparse wtf. Hot Pot is the easiest and most time efficient meal ever.

Updates on Life already (Birthday, Love Package & Snowboarding)

I am so happy at the moment so I decided to dedicate this moment to blogging (wtf). I have been really really lame and haven't done much since 2011 started. Getting too tied down by work and coming home with a mind that's half exploded, I barely have a moment sitting down to just watch tv and eat trash (aka chocolate fingers, hostess cupcakes, wantwant snow crisps rice crackers...). At this moment of a quite Saturday afternoon, I slightly recalled bombarding you with some food posts so here's what I am going to do - some food pictures, some updates on life, and then I realized I didn't have much of a life besides snowboarding since 2011-_-

Yesterday was one of my best friends Godfrey's birthday and we tried to look for the best in town of course. He is a baller he even got himself an Audi A5 for his birthday haha.

 I adrore this car! Especially the inside of it with the 3D navigation system!

We have meant to try this place for the longest time because it's literally across the street from where Godfrey works and 5 minutes from where I live.  We had a great time there despite that chitty chatty 45 mins wait even with reservation. Seriously what was up with that?

By the way tell your boyfriend I said hi (Any one)" what the heck, mom?? So I called her right away and she said "how do I know who you're dating right now.. Maybe you've switched again" -_- Thanks, mom.

Snowboarding:

I am definitely getting a lot better but yet still a super newbie. After a super duper embarrassing moment falling off from a lift, I am very determined to at least be able to board without falling. I even got my own gear HAHA and have been going every weekend *super determined eyes

Call me Shovel Pro!

Today was one of those days where I wake up early to watch the snow fall. The news last night hinted  that about 20 inches of snow was expected between mid night last night to this morning 7am in the East Coast of the US. When this kind of weather comes around at the mid night, there is of course nothing we could do but just pray to hope that digging out my car to work would not be as bad as everyone had warned me. And then, of course, I felt very helpless first thing in the morning looking outside from my apartment window, barely noticing the existence of my car-_-

I was one of those lucky ones - My boss worried about my safety and let me work from home. Sipping hot cocoa and trying to figure out what was wrong with my laptop vpn, I couldn't help but keep thinking about when was a good time to actually go get a shovel and dig my car out.

I couldn't wait til tomorrow because the snow would get hardened tonight when the temperature drops. nor I could wait til my Prince Charming to arrive to give me a kiss on the cheek and help me dig out my car wtf

I made up my mind, walked to the hardware store down the block from my apartment complex and got a snow shovel! What a shame! I have been driving for almost 6 years and this was my first time getting a shovel? Maybe my Prince Charming really existed wtfwtf

Anyway it took me literally an hour to un-bury my car. It was weird because I actually found it quite calming to just stand against the strong wind and shovel around. You know, how rare do I get a chance to do this? This is a special work day :)

1. Where is your favourite holiday destination?

Hong Kong. 3 sides of Hong Kong is surrounded by oceans. Beaches are easy getaways from the busy city. Enticing shopping on the streets and numerous fancy indoor malls. Miles of beautiful lights along Victoria Harbour with a daily laser show bright up the whole city at night. Night life ends at 8am when dimsum starts at 5am. A city truly never sleeps.

2. What is your favourite candy to snack on?

I am not much of a snacker. I prefer real food that makes me full lol. The only thing that is kinda qualified is probably Chocopies, though i consider they are more on the pie side than the choco side :P

3. What is the most played song on your music player?

I am not the type of person who would have headphones on at all times, I only listen to music when I work out. The best song to work out to? Brown Eyed Girls Abracadabra is still my favourite!

4. What makes your bedroom unique?

Old wood floor and vaulted ceiling are what make my bedroom so special. 3 windows with lots of daylight. Its dreamy. I live in an attic and I feel like a squirrel when I snack on my chocopies (random facts: squirrels like living in attics but I am pretty sure they like nuts better than chocopies)

5. What are you most scared of?

RATSSS.

6. How late did you stay up last night and why?

It was one of the rare nights last night. Couple of my friends and I went out to grab a causal drink. I came back around 1 but I pre-trapped myself with putting my clean laundry all over on my bed thus I was forced to fold it when I wanted to go to bed. So plus doing stuff here and there - 2am as supposed to 10:30pm.

7. If you had to eat a live tarantula for $1,000, would you?

Hell. No! I'd eat a grasshopper for $1000 tho.. I think.

8. If you could star in any movie (made or in the works), what 

 movie would you choose?

I would probably choose to be in Moulin Rouge. It'd be great to see how tall Nicole Kidman is in real life. It'd also be amazing to see how a movie turns out to be so colorfully surreal by filming so much in front of a blue/green screen.

Chloe Eau de Parfum + Free People + Zara + F21 + Korean snacks and buns

Yet another shopping day for me!

I was originally going to check out the nordstrom anniversary sale that Everyone is talking about. I was drooling over this Nordstrom exclusive Dior "Ready to wear" palette. But surprise! I ended up not getting it because the eye shallows are not as dreamy and pigmented as I thought they would be. Its relatively sheer and frosty (wtf). I also dont think I would use the gloss on it often because of the form. The bronzer and the blush are gorgeous tho. So even its such a great deal ($56), I'd rather spend the money to buy couple full sized products that I truly like.

Anyway, now to the things that I actually purchased <3

I finally got the new Chloe perfume and can finally stop whining about getting it.
Sephora offers a box set with a 50ml perfume and a 100ml body lotion in a very pretty white box with Chloe printed on it. Ah love!

I have been using Versace Bright Crystal a lot. Its very sweet and summery thus I wanted somthing more sophisticated to wear at night. I am so hooked to this new Chloe scent since I first saw it in Korea more than half a year ago. I will do a perfume review later on :)

Talking about clothes shopping, how could I resist not going to Free People? As many of you already know, I am a huge Free People fan for many years. This time I picked up 2 dresses. I absolutely adore the super fun colorful braided halter on the 1st dress. The 2nd dress isnt anything special but as always, its FB cutting that fits me really well. It has the typical tank top string design of FP and I could also dress it up or down depends on my mood.

I also picked up this purse from Zara. I love the vintage design of it and the huge gem design on the front. I have been looking for this size of purses lately. Something that I could just grab and go with, but of which at the same time fits everything such as wallet, keys, a compact of powder and my camera in.

Not sure if its because I am getting old, I have been so forgetful lately. I recently lost my friend's audi key, my iphone, the one and only pair of glasses... and of course, numerous of earrings. How frustrating is to lose one of the earrings, right? I figured buying jewelry from Forever21 is perfect. Everything they sell is dirt cheap. The quality isnt all bad either. Just have to pick carefully. all comes to $20 only!

And you know me! How could a day be fulfilling without good food? I stocked up on Korean bakery and snacks for the whole week. Green tea, sweet potato, milk, cheese and melon bunss. Cup noodles, digestive, chocopie and seaweed. Yummmmm I cant wait to eat them all (ahem... I am actually already munching on the seaweed)

Deep Sea Fishing + Golf

What's better than spending all day outdoor on a nice summer day?

First time deep sea fishing! Perfect weather, not too sunny so no sunburn :)

The day made me realize how fun it is to do things outside,
which is weird because I really stopped doing all the outdoor activities since I have moved to living in the States.
Life is very short and we've only got to live it once.
I am determined to do more outdoorsy stuff - tennis, sailing, beach volleyball, skateboarding..

And I am very sorry that i have been boring you with all these random posts. I know I need to do more cosmetics-related posts. I am just on a stage where I think I have owned way too much stuff so seldom want to buy new stuff to show. Plus, its summer time hence I barely use any makeup. But I promise I am going to make new makeup posts soon. Actually, I have been planning on throwing away a lot of stuff I currently own and buying more high-end makeup. I dont know tho but I need suggestions from you girls!
