Tom Ford 2012 Inspired Makeup Look

Was going to do a step-by-step for this look but the pictures did not come out as anticipated :(

Inspired by the Tom Ford Fall 2012 look - burgundy, bronzy brown metallic rum deep socketed eyes, heavily contoured with just a touch of pink cheeks, sultry red lips. I thought it would be kinda fun to dupe this look since I basically have nothing Tom Ford or anything red tone with me (you all know I just relocated for work and have minimum makeup with me from this post).

BASE MAKEUP | I used Hera HD Foundation in no. 21 to create a flawless canvas. Also wanted to test out to see of the foundation which has SPF 15 does well with flash photography. I guess it doesn't lol. Topped with the YSL stick concealer that I often use in my Foundation Routine, I highlighted my nose and top of my cheekbons with Nars Hungry Heart Duo III before sprinkling the Lancome Photogenic Loose Powder on the areas where I need to set the concealer and control my oiliness.

EYE MAKEUP | Without a burgundy color, I first used the red in the Sleek i-Divid Primer Palette 600 to create a base. Then lay the bronzy Urban Decay Naked 2 Palette in Snakebite to create the deep and elongated socketed by putting it close to my nose bridge and winging it further out. Don't forget the signature of this look is to put the bronzy shadow all across the lower lash line. To continue with the same palette, I utilize the shine of YDK to give the center of my eyes a pop and highlight my brow bones using Bootycall. Lastly using Tease to blend everything in making sure the colors are located high enough even when eyes are open. For eyeliner I start with using ELF black gel liner to tightline both the upper all the way in and out with a short wing. Same with the lower waterline, then go over it with the Olive one to thicken it out.

FACE MAKEUP | As usual I use Nars Laguna to slightly give my face the sunkissed look. Then I focus on deeply contour the hallow of my face and top it of with a slight touch of Nars Sin.

LIPS MAKEUP | Since I don't have a deep red with me at the moment, I line my lips using a orange lipliner to give the lips some sharp definition. Go in then with Shiseido Rouge Parfait in RD415 that I also used in This Look, in attempt to tone it down further with the plummy Revlon Lip Butter in Sugar Plum tho it was an epic fail lol.

It is no doubt too early to do an autumn / fall look but I couldn't resist how beautiful and mesmerizing the look is. Nor my face is any closed to be pretty or my Asian features as 3D as the super gorgeous model in the Ad la wtf, I just secretly wish I was white lolol just kidding. Hope you like the look nonetheless xo.

Paul & Joe reviews | What I got from Cosmogirl HK & FOTD

A little back story - I won a Christmas makeup competition using this look (HERE) from Cosmogirl Hong Kong and my prize was a set of Paul & Joe cosmetics. I personally had never owned any Paul & Joe products that was why I was really really excited. They said that the best 30 makeup looks would win this prize. I anxiously checked the website on the destined date the winners were announced. Apparently less than 30 people had participated so every single person automatically won wtf-_-

Lucky me I guess?
The products came in with a really very well made green pouch with silver embroidery, that includes 3 sample sized and 2 full sized products:
- Protective Powder Compact Foundation
- Facial Treatment Oil
- Moisturizing Foundation Primer
- Lip Lacquer in 001
- Metallic Eye Gloss in 001

Swatches of the Metallic Eye Gloss & Lip Lacquer
Both products are of such good quality. They are highly pigmented and very long lasting.

The Metallic Eye Gloss in 001 is a cool tone grey with silver shimmers with a slightly white undertone. It spreads easily and is not sticky once it is on. The felt tip applicator takes out the right among of products and makes it messless (besides the finger needed to spread out the product!).

The Lip Lacquer in 001 is a medium pink with a slight corol undertone with micro gold and silver shimmers. They look more like a sheen when on. It is in a plastic applicator just like the Lancome Juicy Tubes, of which I am not a huge fan of in terms of its design. I don't know! I always feel like they look like makeup for kids. However after a few minutes of serious thinking, I understand why some of the most popular companies do design their lipglosses that way - because its the most effective, convenient and easy to control for get products. Compared to other neutral colored lipglosses I own, this is definitely one of the best quality, most comfortable to wear with a mild stickiness and versatile lipglosses that can easily stay put for a few hours. It has a slight floral scent and can be reapplied without causing peeling.

In action
I have been really digging the combo of brown and grey. I like to dap the Eye Gloss on the center of my eyes. It looks rather natural yet the shimmers completes the look with sophistication. The lipgloss is just overall a match for no matter what type of eye colors I am wearing. Overall I really enjoyed these products. Since I am traveling at the moment thus don't have a lot of makeup with me. These versatile, comfy-to-wear products definitely help me out a lot.

FOTD
Since I got my lash extensions I have not been lining my eyes using other pencil/liquid eyeliners. I love the overall fresh look! I will be sure to check out more Paul & Joe products in the future despite the fact that they are discontinued by Anthropologie and extremely difficult to get our hands on.

Check out more of their products from their website in English here:

Hope you all are having a fantastic weekend! See you all when I am back from Taiwan on Valentine's Day <3!

Rimmel Glam'Eyes Mono Eye Shadow in Glam Ice and Spicy Bronze Review + FOTD

Don't even know how many times I have stopped myself from getting bulky, mono-functional single eyeshadow. But tell me how do you resist when theres a 75% off sign on top? Both of these I picked up from the last CVS sale. With the pricetag no more than $1.5/ea, I am so impressed with the quality!

I am loving these eyeshadow and have almost been using them everyday. The warm tone bronze color brightens up my complexion. Though my skin is still recovering from an allergy reaction (as you can still see my skin texture from the pictures :( ), I am more than happy to be able to play with makeup after a hell week of healing.

Rimmel Glam'Eyes Mono Eye Shadow - Spicy Bronze & Glam Ice

I will be uploading a video of this "Summer Bronze" look soon. You know me, I am just really slow on making videos haha.

Innocent face?

Myth: Ulzzang wanna be *vain
Truth: Just wanted to use up my Bobbi Brown Longwear Eyeliner in Black Ink

Super elongated straight down eyeliner + lower eyeliner smudges on the outer corners
= purposely makes eyes droopy to look innocent wtf

See what I mean? So innocent! (wearing Geo Angel Grey here)
K I am going to vomit my lungs out now-_-

I think at least it doesn't make me look as bitchy as having cateyes. What do you think? I used the night portrait mode on my camera and the pictures turned out so yellow. I kinda like it tho. Oh my freaking eyebags...

Sorry for the lack of posts. I really don't have much time to sit down and blog (because I am busy eating ice cream). I was debating if I should make a post of this or not for awhile but I figured "something" is better than "nothing", right?

Pink kissable lips for Valentines/Single Awareness Day

I am late but I don't really give a damn. Not to sound cynical or anything but I personally think that Valentines Day is most commercial manufactured day to imitate love. Thanks to the media everyone thinks that something special needs to be done that day. Flowers need to be overpriced, restaurants need to be overbooked. As shallow as it, I was once like that - receiving expensive purses, eating out at the fanciest restaurants, expecting a full day rundown of activities. Maybe I am just seriously getting old and losing my charm wtf, I really haven't done anything really special over the past valentines days in years. Don't take me wrong, I am sincerely happy to see couples celebrating their "special" day. At least it is just not for me anymore. If you have loved the right person, everyday is your Valentine's Day, isn't it?

Coincidentally I saw these amazing photos on Cosmogirl and was inspired to pull of this look of pink lips to fit into this Valentine's theme - sarcastic enough? Nah, its spring sakura blossom, depends on how you interpret it.

The more I talk about it the deeper gap of controversy I think I am falling into, so shut up and post:

I wear this look quite often. Simple no elongated eyeliner, minimal blush and eyeshadow. A pop of lip color to wrap up and brighten the whole look。That's the easiest! What do you think? Do you use bright pink lipsticks too?

Urban Decay Haul + FOTD

My Urban Purchase haul came a month after I made the purchased off Hautelook. Shipment was disspointing but the products were not at all (minus the mascaras). I had never owned anything from Urban Decay before so I figured getting for much cheaper prices from Hautelook was a really good chance for me to get my hands on some Urban Decay products that I meant to try for the longest time. Here are what I bought:

Eyeshadow Duo in Oil Slick and Grind: ($17 each)
Professionals, celebrities, and makeup junkies swoon for the wide array of shades from Urban Decay. Each one is loaded with color and contains very few binders (the stuff that holds shadow together), resulting in beautiful color that blends easily and lasts.
- Includes 2 eye shadows (0.05 oz. each)
-

Oil Slick (black with silver glitter)
Grind (pink with big silver glitter)

I hate the pink color is completed washed out in these pictures. The shadows look and apply MUCH better on the lids than hands (not sure why...) Grind is a great color and alternative to put in the inner corners as highlight. Both are very buildable and long lasting!

Big Fatty Mascaras (Regular and Waterproof): ($20 each)
Urban Decay's Big Fatty Mascaras create the fullest, fattest lashes imaginable. The creamy formula glosses on with a big fuzzy wand to separate, thicken and lengthen lashes. In fact, after two coats, they might be mistaken for falsies.

They are just OH SO big. Hands down they aren't meant for people who have small eyes like me. The fiber and coat are way too heavy for my Asian lashes. They do not lengthen or volumize my lashes at all. So disappointing!

Good Karma Brush:
Good Karma Brush is made with super soft synthetic Taklon, a man-made fiber that comes to a fine point at the tip, just like a natural hair. Urban Decay crimps and manipulates these high-tech two-tone fibers just perfectly for what it was built to do. The weighted, brushed metal handles have an exclusive knurling for a better grip for easy application, plus their sleek look is so chic.

I did a slight comparison in the video on the Urban Decay Wonder Brush, ELF Eyeliner Brush and the Bobbi Brown Ultra Fine Eyeliner Brush. The winner is Wonder Brush. It's flat and wide, yet point for me to apply liner really quickly. The quality of both the handle and hair is amazing even after many washes. I will definitely repurchase even with regular price.

FOTD using the eyeshadow:
I have got everything + shipping for about $25? I don't remember the exact amount but it was so cheap! Feel free to use my code: http://www.hautelook.com/invite/WTsui883 if you're interested in being a Hautelook member :)

Have you tried anything from Urban Decay? How do you like them?
