October Favorites - MAC Gingerly, Inglot e/s, Laneige, Skinfood, Orly...

This month I really started to feel a little overwhelmed by how many new products I had the desire to try out. Besides the swap from Cathy that I never got around to review, I am waiting for my $500 Sephora F&F package. The sad truth is I want to try them all, however the daily 15 min makeup routine doesn't permit. Too many products, too little time :( Anyway, I realized I had to do this to apologize the lack of updates for you wtf so lets jump into everything...

Inglot Palette - One of the very summery palettes that I can easily alternate the darker colors for fall and winter. Cathy sent me this during our swap because Inglot in the US does not sell pre-made palettes. I will be sure to do a more throughout review on all my Inglot eyeshadows since I did pick up another 10 color freedom system palette from NYC a few weeks ago. But as for now, you can read my very old review HERE to get a sense. The eyeshadows are very pigmented, "wet" in my opinion and very comparable to MAC's.  Picture above is one swipe of the eyeshadows.

Kate Palette - Brown Collection in BR-3 - The pigmentation and quality are not necessarily superb however I love the concept of combining brow powder and eyeshadows in one. This baby is always in my morning makeup bag (since I do my makeup in the work bathroom every morning wtf). Having this I can easily make sure that neither my brows or eyes were left behind wtf. The brushes that come with are of great use as well; The small brush allows me to add colors on my brows within seconds whereas the tiny tip of the other brush allows me to line my eyes using the black shadow. Swiping the pink color all over my lids and dapping the lightest silver color on the inner corners, I am good to go!

Majorlica Majorca Enamel Glamour Volmne On mascara - Newest release of the Shiseido Majorlica Majorca family aka my new love (though I got it in late 2010-_-). Read my complete review HERE

Skinfood Lime Secret Shine Base - I love my base makeup to be a little more luminous, especially for the dry fall and winter. Love adding a drop of this to the base makeup I am using... works great with all BB Creams and foundations. It can also be used alone as a highlighter like the Benefit Moon beam. Though this one is much more luminous and silky however does not grease up on the skin. It is affordable (not cheap but comes in such ginormous volume) and versatile.

MAC Gingerly Blush - One of the recommendations after I saw Sharon's favorite blush video (Check out her channel HERE, 1000 thumb ups!!). Putting Mocha and Plum Foolery aside, I started using Gingerly everyday, this dark nude neutral coral color works well and gives me a hint of romantic check no matter what eye look I am wearing. I notice that it is a bit chalky than other MAC blushers (maybe just mine?!), yet still a wonderful must have blush and fall version of my all time favourite Melba

Laneige Hydra Solution Activator - using this alone as a serum does not give me enough hydration during the night however padding this on before my sunscreen and makeup in the morning is great! I notice my face has become a better canvas for makeup to stay put longer and my t-zone is also not as oily. Perhaps I am just happy to find a way to make this work so I dont regret carrying this all the way back from Korea wtf.

L'oreal Collagen Moisture Filler/Combleur Hydratant - my favorite night cream at the moment! I first started using it but it broke the hell out of me. It was too oily on my T-zone though I noticed a pretty obvious change on the moist level on my cheeks and forehead. After 2 nights my skin started to react to this differently. It stayed on til the next morning and I notice that my fine lines are slowly diminishing. I am sure my Estee Lauder Advanced Night Repair serum helps (a lot) too but this cream builds a fortification to lock all the nutrients in the skin overnight. (Talk about skin war!) My skin still feels moist the next day. I am already on my second bottle and am planning to use this to fight the New England cold throughout the winter. If you have relatively drier skin and love a super thick cream for the night like me, give this a go!

Orly Rage - Holymoly, I love this polish so much. The color is fierce, shimmery yet subtle enough for work. With different lightings, it may appear as a rose gold or bronze gold. It compliments my yellow undertone skin, applies well with 2 coats and barely chips. Pictures are taken after 10 days of wear. Go figure!

So here are my October favorites. Give me another week and I will be full gear blogging and making videos! A lot of haul, skincare and makeup posts will be coming shortly. Thank you very much for reading and I hope everyone is having a fabulous weekend!

[Tutorial] - Fuchsia Hot Pink Look

As a neutral makeup kinda girl you almost never catch me with bright bold eyeshadows even though I love them! I decided to take on a challenge before I get too old sitting at a corner of the house painfully regret what I didn't do while I was young wtf.

Yes I got another Inglot palette last weekend from NYC and rearranged all the eyeshadows I have. I couldn't help but notice this gorgeous FUCHSIA hot pink color. I filmed a tutorial for you! But since a lot of you complained about having difficulties hearing me from other videos, I am making this sans sound lol. So, here you go -

Though the eyeshadow is super pigmented and bold, its actually very pretty for a night look in my opinion, especially with a simple black dress. Me likey!

Black Hacks | Black eyeshadow comparisons

There are a few blacks that are kept in my makeup drawer no matter how many times of apartment moving I have to go through. They asked me if I could introduce them to you. Of course, it'd be my pleasure!

From left to right,
Inglot amc 63 - MAC Black Cream Color Base - Chanel 69 Black Star Soft Touch Eyeshadow -  Majolica Majorca BK922 Urban Decay Oil Slick -  Inglot amc 65

Inglot AMC 63 is a matte black.
Pigmentation is smooth and intense. It is very comparable to MAC Carbon but in a much cheaper price. Despite the fallout due to the 'wetter' formula, this color is intense while very buildable. It's perfect to use for dancing the night away.

MAC Cream Color Base in Black is a ink black eyeshadow cream.
Holy moly this is one intense, glossy blackest black cream thats perfect for doing smokey looks with. It can be worn alone or underneath shadows. It is easy to blend out and stays put nicely. However, it would crease easy without a primer or on oily eyelids.

Chanel Soft Touch eyeshadow in 69 Black Star is a dark grey with micro silver shimmers.
I always take this shadow with me when I go travel because it alone can create the perfect black smokey eyes. So buildable that it can transform from a dark grey to an intense black. The shimmers are so fine milled and blended so nicely with the dark grey color. So dimensional.

Majolica Majorca BK922 is a metallic gray with blue, silver and green sheen and silver shimmers.
Again, another shadow that I could use alone to pull off a smokey look (See my look Here). It's a tad lighter than Black Star but much more affordable. Downside? It does not last as long as other eyeshadows stated.

Urban Decay Oil Slick is a dark with silver shimmers.
This would be the color if you want shimmers to be seen. It has the biggest glitters among all the eyeshadows. From far away, the glitters stand out even more than the pigmentation of the eyeshadow.

Inglot AMC 65 is a black with micro silver shimmers.
This understated shimmery black is my favourite alternative when I am sick of using a matte black but still want that intense black color. It's smooth, pigmented and lasts a long time.

Do you constantly grab for black eyeshadows? What are your favourites? Please do share!

Favourite Products of 2010 + Resolutions for 2011!

Today is the 10th day of 2011 and I hope you all are progressively making your resolutions come true. 10 is the very first number to round up in the number family and I hope to make today a little special by doing what 10 does on a daily basis wtf. I was never a person who would ask myself to change this change that. Hence, shame to me I never had any resolutions because I honestly didn't see a point in making any - I felt like if I meant to do something or was in urge to do something, simply and easily, then I would. Though this year is a little different, I unwillingly participated in the society work force, dedicating 30 somewhat hours a week to a job fml. It's not like I don't like my job. I have started working full time for exactly a month now and am loving the environment, people and how much I am learning everyday... but it's so different than sitting at home or going shopping everyday, and be able to blog however and whenever I want.

Things are different now, you know?

So this year I want to make some resolutions for once to keep things on track, since there are many more 'obstacles' fighting against my freedom. And I want you all to supervise this resolution newbie in making this happen aka I want you all to be apart of my life :P

Also as to relate to my primary purpose of this blog, I want to do post regarding my favourite products of 2010. For the sake of my blog I will not go into super details of each product but I will try to list the reviews I had on them if possible.

Resolutions for 2011
- master in snowboarding: as I tweeted earlier as a joke, I am taking snowboarding really serious this year. I am going to snowboard every weekend until I could do it in Aspen, then Switzerland.
- lose 10 lbs and become a hot girl so all my ex-es will regret if they haven't' already: Just kidding la, though I really wanna start dancing or kickboxing again or some sort of routine exercising to keep my body strong for snowboarding, and simply to stay healthier.
- grad school / work overseas decision: probably not going to have to decide until later on this year since the deadline for this upcoming September has already passed but I wanna figure out if I could get into Stanford or some ways to work in either Singapore or Shanghai... I don't want to stay in this East Coast weather if I was about to spend 2 years in school (after 6 years-_-).
- travel: not sure if I could do as much traveling as I did in 2010 since having a f/t job but will definitely try going to somewhere new if I could get vacation days from work.
- everyone stays happy, grateful and healthy!

What are your resolutions? And what were your favourite products of 2010?

Inglot Freedom System 10 Eyeshadow Palette Review

I have been dying to check out some of the Inglot shadows for the longest time. It was the 1st thing came in my mind arranging my trip to New York last weekend. I was out of black shadow and wanting to buy more neutral colors. After reading some many good reviews, I was so excited to get my hands on them :)

Little info about Inglot -
INGLOT Company was established over 25 years ago by Wojtek Inglot, a young chemist working at that time in R&D department in pharmaceutical company. His principal objective was to produce high quality products at fair and reasonable prices, using only the best possible ingredients and raw materials from the most reputable suppliers. Wojtek Inglot is still directly involved in the formulation and design process of all new Inglot products. All Inglot cosmetics are produced within the European Union and 95% of them are manufactured in our own state of art production facilities. We work with make-up artists and colour consultants to bring the latest trends in colour, texture and form to the market. We are constantly developing new products and have just launched the world’s first ever Breathable Nail Enamel ensuring better health care for nails whilst enhancing their beauty. Our unique Freedom System allows customers to experiment with countless shades and colour combinations of different face products, giving them the opportunity to create their own customized colour palette. We are present in 240 retail locations worldwide.

My 1st Inglot palette with the semi-transparent lid on :)
Inglot's innovative magnetic packaging helps you to stack your palettes in place relatively easy!
I went for the Freedom System because I could pick out every single color I wanted so no dead colors on my pan! I mainly went for neutrals tho!
Swatches only with a dab of color! Look at how pigmented the eyeshadows are!

Its located right at Times in New York
1592 Broadway, New York, NY
Even though Inglot is famous for their nail polishes, I just don't have that much of a desire to own a lot of polishes these days. The location of their store in New York is super convenient. Right at Times, and furthermore, it was literally 3 blocks down from the hotel I stayed at!

No wonder people say Inglot shadows are comparable to MAC shadows. For the price ($50 for 10 shadows) and pigmentation, nothing could even come close to Inglot's quality. I don't like collecting single shadows, whereas, I like to create looks out of one palette and this is perfect! I've got to choose every single color that I like and think would work for me and put them into one handy palette.

I highly recommend Inglot shadows if you're by chance going to New York or able to get them to try!
