Biore Black Nose Strips (Nipponia Resort Tropical Floral Edition) Review

It's almost Chinese New Year and I am Super excited! Following the old traditional we are suppose to clean our house, 送舊迎新 - get rid of the old to welcome the new! I thought it'd be a perfect timing for my pores to follow me and do the same wtf. To be honest I only do nose strips once every .. perhaps 2 months?

Prettiest packaging ever - you know how much I love hawaiian prints!!
Azaleas and Plumeria <3
Make sure to put on a bare face, otherwise it wouldn't work well.
wait for 10 - 15 minutes.
EWWWW!!!!!!

Basically its the same as other Biore nose strips but looks and smell wayyy better lol... and it's black - so for freaks like me to get a better sensation because the 'dirt' comes out on the strip is easier to be seen. Azaleas and Plumeria - they have different scents and smell amazing on.

Give your face a little clean up once in awhile so that skincare and makeup will go on much better :)

I am having an awesome weekend so far. Snowboarding yesterday and Chinese New Year dinner at Chinatown with the fam tonight. I will be saying a lot of 恭喜發財s to collect my youth funds (pocket money that is~). And next weekend? New York City! My best friend is visiting from Hong Kong. Hope you have a good one as well <3

Urban Decay Haul + FOTD

My Urban Purchase haul came a month after I made the purchased off Hautelook. Shipment was disspointing but the products were not at all (minus the mascaras). I had never owned anything from Urban Decay before so I figured getting for much cheaper prices from Hautelook was a really good chance for me to get my hands on some Urban Decay products that I meant to try for the longest time. Here are what I bought:

Eyeshadow Duo in Oil Slick and Grind: ($17 each)
Professionals, celebrities, and makeup junkies swoon for the wide array of shades from Urban Decay. Each one is loaded with color and contains very few binders (the stuff that holds shadow together), resulting in beautiful color that blends easily and lasts.
- Includes 2 eye shadows (0.05 oz. each)
-

Oil Slick (black with silver glitter)
Grind (pink with big silver glitter)

I hate the pink color is completed washed out in these pictures. The shadows look and apply MUCH better on the lids than hands (not sure why...) Grind is a great color and alternative to put in the inner corners as highlight. Both are very buildable and long lasting!

Big Fatty Mascaras (Regular and Waterproof): ($20 each)
Urban Decay's Big Fatty Mascaras create the fullest, fattest lashes imaginable. The creamy formula glosses on with a big fuzzy wand to separate, thicken and lengthen lashes. In fact, after two coats, they might be mistaken for falsies.

They are just OH SO big. Hands down they aren't meant for people who have small eyes like me. The fiber and coat are way too heavy for my Asian lashes. They do not lengthen or volumize my lashes at all. So disappointing!

Good Karma Brush:
Good Karma Brush is made with super soft synthetic Taklon, a man-made fiber that comes to a fine point at the tip, just like a natural hair. Urban Decay crimps and manipulates these high-tech two-tone fibers just perfectly for what it was built to do. The weighted, brushed metal handles have an exclusive knurling for a better grip for easy application, plus their sleek look is so chic.

I did a slight comparison in the video on the Urban Decay Wonder Brush, ELF Eyeliner Brush and the Bobbi Brown Ultra Fine Eyeliner Brush. The winner is Wonder Brush. It's flat and wide, yet point for me to apply liner really quickly. The quality of both the handle and hair is amazing even after many washes. I will definitely repurchase even with regular price.

FOTD using the eyeshadow:
I have got everything + shipping for about $25? I don't remember the exact amount but it was so cheap! Feel free to use my code: http://www.hautelook.com/invite/WTsui883 if you're interested in being a Hautelook member :)

Have you tried anything from Urban Decay? How do you like them?

Updates on Life already (Birthday, Love Package & Snowboarding)

I am so happy at the moment so I decided to dedicate this moment to blogging (wtf). I have been really really lame and haven't done much since 2011 started. Getting too tied down by work and coming home with a mind that's half exploded, I barely have a moment sitting down to just watch tv and eat trash (aka chocolate fingers, hostess cupcakes, wantwant snow crisps rice crackers...). At this moment of a quite Saturday afternoon, I slightly recalled bombarding you with some food posts so here's what I am going to do - some food pictures, some updates on life, and then I realized I didn't have much of a life besides snowboarding since 2011-_-

Yesterday was one of my best friends Godfrey's birthday and we tried to look for the best in town of course. He is a baller he even got himself an Audi A5 for his birthday haha.

I adrore this car! Especially the inside of it with the 3D navigation system!

900 Boylston Street
Boston, MA 02199

We have meant to try this place for the longest time because it's literally across the street from where Godfrey works and 5 minutes from where I live.
We had a great time there despite that chitty chatty 45 mins wait even with reservation. Seriously what was up with that?

lobster wood grilled pizza. baby red mustard greens & meyer lemon. SO GOOD!

g & j’s mushroom duxelles w/scallion & fresh homemade cheese. SO GOOD TOO!
foie gras seared w/ white pepper.. roasted grape risotto.
Just okay.
nova scotia lobster chowder w/ angel biscuit.
Looks really good but it SUCKS! The bisque tastes like carrot soup.
The lobster and fish are so tasteless-__-

Super cute chandelier above us with many guys holding hands floating
Happy dinner :)
Surprise!! Happy Birthday!!
Happy Birthday my dear,
though everyone is somewhere else in the world
we are still here celebrating with you in Boston :D
Random moment in life:
Love Package sent by mom <3
Chinese New Year decorations XD
So Chinese
In the letter she wrote, "I am so happy that you're turning 21! (which is NOT true-_-) It's year of rabbit and I wish you're happier, more energetic, healthier, even more blessed than last year.. By the way tell your boyfriend I said hi (Any one)" what the heck, mom?? So I called her right away and she said "how do I know who you're dating right now.. Maybe you've switched again" -_- Thanks, mom.

Snowboarding:

I am definitely getting a lot better but yet still a super newbie. After a super duper embarrassing moment falling off from a lift, I am very determined to at least be able to board without falling. I even got my own gear HAHA and have been going every weekend *super determined eyes

I hope you enjoy reading this random post! Please feel free to let me know if you like/dislike these kind of posts. Have a marvelous weekend!

Makeup Basics: The Tangerine Lips + FOTD

When I first saw these in Cosmopolitan, I knew I had to recreate this simple, clean yet elegant bohemian look with orange lips. I am personally a huge fan of orange lips and I figured this would be a perfect opportunity for me to do a review on the Revlon Color Burst Lipstick in Coral which I got many many months back then which i LOVE!
3 Easy steps to create this gorgeous orange lips look
apply orange lip pencil and lipstick
spread lipstick color with lip pencil to draw
use a q-tip to clean up and make the lip line even sharper
Same when I have to pull off a bright lip look, I like to keep my eye makeup really simple. Eyeliner, earth-tone shadow, natural lashes. Here is my take:

Definitely love the pigmentation of the Revlon Color Burst Lipstick - the formula is quite nice and creamy though I still found it little dry after couple hours. And the solution? Layer it with the Revlon Super Lustrous Lipgloss in Coral Reef. Now it's perfect!

Hope you are all having a great weekend! Will have a snowboarding post coming up soon :D

The Face Shop Pomegranate Fine Foam Facial Cleaner Review

Whoa my last cleansing routine has lasted me a good amount of time and I didn't even know I haven't purchased a new cleanser for such a long time if I am not blogging! I picked up the Promegranate Fine Foam Facial Cleanser from The Face Shop back in late November from the same trip I purchased my Inglot Eyeshadow Palette from New York. I was specifically looking for a foam cleanser since they clean the best, but at the same time mild and moisturizing because I really hate the streakiness of some of the foam cleansers I have used. The staff recommended me this :)

The Face Shop Pomegranate Fine Foam Facial Cleaner
A delicately foaming cleanser with botanical extracts and power througoutly removes unwanted oil, dirt and makeup, leaxving skin perfect clean and soft.
Pomegrante, Rooibos and Japanese extracts help norish and soften skin for a silky texture.

As you can see, the form is super fine. I think I took too much already. This is probably one of the foam cleansers that doesn't give me the dryness I hate. My face feels really clean but at the same time so supple and plump. Ah I love it!

I highly recommend this to you if you're looking for a cheap foam cleanser (~$10) that does its job and not dry your skin out.

Question now: What is your favourite form of cleansers? What is your favourite and what are you currently using?

Favourite Products of 2010 + Resolutions for 2011!

Today is the 10th day of 2011 and I hope you all are progressively making your resolutions come true. 10 is the very first number to round up in the number family and I hope to make today a little special by doing what 10 does on a daily basis wtf. I was never a person who would ask myself to change this change that. Hence, shame to me I never had any resolutions because I honestly didn't see a point in making any - I felt like if I meant to do something or was in urge to do something, simply and easily, then I would. Though this year is a little different, I unwillingly participated in the society work force, dedicating 30 somewhat hours a week to a job fml. It's not like I don't like my job. I have started working full time for exactly a month now and am loving the environment, people and how much I am learning everyday... but it's so different than sitting at home or going shopping everyday, and be able to blog however and whenever I want.

Things are different now, you know?

So this year I want to make some resolutions for once to keep things on track, since there are many more 'obstacles' fighting against my freedom. And I want you all to supervise this resolution newbie in making this happen aka I want you all to be apart of my life :P

Also as to relate to my primary purpose of this blog, I want to do post regarding my favourite products of 2010. For the sake of my blog I will not go into super details of each product but I will try to list the reviews I had on them if possible.

Resolutions for 2011
- master in snowboarding: as I tweeted earlier as a joke, I am taking snowboarding really serious this year. I am going to snowboard every weekend until I could do it in Aspen, then Switzerland.
- lose 10 lbs and become a hot girl so all my ex-es will regret if they haven't' already: Just kidding la, though I really wanna start dancing or kickboxing again or some sort of routine exercising to keep my body strong for snowboarding, and simply to stay healthier.
- grad school / work overseas decision: probably not going to have to decide until later on this year since the deadline for this upcoming September has already passed but I wanna figure out if I could get into Stanford or some ways to work in either Singapore or Shanghai... I don't want to stay in this East Coast weather if I was about to spend 2 years in school (after 6 years-_-).
- travel: not sure if I could do as much traveling as I did in 2010 since having a f/t job but will definitely try going to somewhere new if I could get vacation days from work.
- everyone stays happy, grateful and healthy!

What are your resolutions? And what were your favourite products of 2010?

Shiseido Perfect Rouge Lipstick Review + FOTD

You all know my favourite lippie is the Shiseido Perfect Rouge Lipstick. I have got my one and only red lipstick (RD415 Valentine, read review HERE)from Shiseido and immediately fell in love with the moisturizing and long lasting texture. I am normally not a lipstick girl but the Perfect Rouge line from Shiseido is just too amazing! and What is the difference from the last time? Not only I picked up a rosy pink, which is a super pretty everyday and night color, I just found out Shiseido now has names for all their lippies!

Check out Shiseido Perfect Rouge Lipstick color chart HERE.

Shiseido Perfect Rouge RS701 Serenity

RS 701 Serenity
swatch accordingly -
I wish Blogger wouldn't wash out pictures' reddness :(
Give you all a big FAT kiss! Ah I hate the shape of my lips-_-
Anyway this is the swatch on my lips.

Pros: (texture wise is really close to RD415)
- true to color (look at the graph and my swatch!!)
- sooooooo smooth
- highly pigmented (covered 100% of my super pigmented lips)
- glossy finish without the need of a gloss
- sharp tip for creating sharp lip lines
- long lasting (~3 hours)
- sturdy and classy packaging
- light color but does not wash me out (works extremely well with yellow undertone skin)

Cons:
- Pricey $25

FOTD:
- just realized I haven't camwhored for a very long time :P
hmmm maybe I should've worn circle lenses to bring out that dolly eyed effect but I was too lazy...

WTF? Anyway enjoy.
And I hope you all had a wonderful weekend!
