Pre- and Post- Pregnancy Skincare for Normal-Dry Skin

It's been a month since Hannah was born and I thought I would record few essential aspects of my pregnancy before I get mumnesia. Here are the topics I will kick off with, hopefully be helpful for you new preggos, moms, or anyone who's looking forward to gifting your mommy friends -

Hannah出世已經有一個月啦 喺我完全未失去理智同記性之前紀錄底大肚時經歷過同用嘅東東 希望幫到大肚嘅或者有朋友大肚嘅你地 我將內容分為:

1) Skincare during and after pregnancy 懷孕時的提亮緊緻面部護理
2) Bodycare - body oils that I like best 懷孕時的身體護理 最愛的護膚油
3) Pregnancy exercise 懷孕時的運動
4) My positive labor story 開心的生產過程
5) Pregnancy - pre and post-partum emotions 懷孕前後的心情

To tie it back to what I have been writing about on this blog, topic number 1 cannot be more appropriate! To be honest, I haven't changed up a lot of my skincare regiment since being pregnant though I, of course, like all the other women out there, researched extensively on my existing skincare to stay away from all the chemicals that I wasn't supposed to put on my face and body - still keeping my #AMaskANight #MOTD routine. People say you get better skin carrying a girl because her hormones are the same as yours. Not sure about that, I didn’t have a single breakout or any other skin issues (apart from the slight puffiness) during my pregnancy. It is important to stick to what your skin had been used to pre-pregnancy and don’t change up everything all at once when your body is going through so much hormonal changes! Here are what I incorporated one at a time to get the glow and suppleness:

I tried to eliminate all the unnecessary chemicals and stick to a regiment that moisturises and nourishes my extra dry skin at the time. I had the pregnancy glow, and skin-wise, it really wasn't any issue.. definitely more problematic on the body with dark spots and fear of stretch marks coming out -

The ultimate moisturising essence that keeps the skin plump and radiant. My skin is so used to it by now I see reversed results whenever I stop using it - as though the dead skin is piling up right away!

The middest oil that I always keep in my cabinet to sooth and replenish the skin no matter what stage my skin is in,

Lightweight, oil-free rejuvenating treatment fortified with self-hydrating Rose of Jericho plus lychee and watermelon hydra-sustain complex quenches to help repair the natural moisture deficiency in dry, dehydrated skin. I like Origins moisturisers in general but this one is def one of my favs!

Very similar to the Origins Make a Difference Plus+ Rejuvenating Treatment but more ‘sea’ and ‘H2O’. A daily moisturiser that soothes and refreshes parched skin with electrolyte-packed hydration. It’s vegan too!

My skin isn't only dry, but also dull when I am completely sleep-deprived! With the limited time I have on hands, I was so eager to start the routine that laser focuses on brightness, luminosity and lifting!

Helps clear congestion, combat dryness and sooth sensitivity whilst leaving skin firmer and more luminous with its unique delivers minerals deep into the skin.

Revitalizing and firming in one application, it table hyper-pigmentation, acne, fine lines and enlarged pores, reversing some of the tell tale signs of skin aging and too much time in the sun!

A nourishing oil that gives obsession-worthy radiance and helps restore skin's natural moisture barrier with a unique blend of antioxidant-rich, superfood seed oils.

Need I say more? You're first running on 4 to 5 hours of sleep a day among feeding, nursing and pumping. This eye cream is moisturising yet targets to boost circulation and brighten the under-eye areas.

Fresh Rose Deep Hydration Face Cream
A lightweight (yet dense enough for night time) formula that uses time-release technology to deliver intense 24-hour moisture. It has the signature Fresh rose scent if you're into that!

Feel free to leave comments or message me directly if you're currently going through the same of finding the best skincare during or post-pregnancy. Wish you all the very best - speak soon!
