MAC Quite Cute Lipstick Collection Swatches (Quite Cute, Candy Yum-yum, Saint Germaine, Play Time and Playing Koi)

Isn't the new MAC Quite Cute collection so damn cute? I was never excited about MAC new collections since they come out SO often but this lipstick collection really caught my eye.

From Left to Right:
Quite Cute - creamy bright whitened lavender
Candy Yum-Yum - matte neon pink
Saint Germain - clean pastel pink (sheer)
Play Time -Creamy Internse Violet
Playing Koi - creamy white peach pink (satin)

I really had my hopes up for Playing Koi but it clashes my skintone (damn you yellow skin:( ) Saint Germain that looks purple on the tube is rather sheer and looks so pretty in person especially under sunlight but it's not possible to find dupes for it, and I seriously doubt if I want to add an odd purple color lipstick into my collection. On top of that, it's not a limited edition color so I can really careless about it. Candy yum-yum is crazy and I don't think I could pull if off nicely since my lips are so big-_- Overall these past 3 days of excitement has turned into a disappointment!

Did you pick up anything from this collection?

Essie Lilacism Review

Story of my life: On the hunt for the perfect pastel purple nail color for spring, Picked up this gorgeous color from Ulta then 2 days later MAC comes out with Little Girl Type (pale lavender cream) in their new Quite Cute collection-_- which is 99% similar in color, if not, just more purple and more of a color I was hunting for *Sparta!!!

*Picture on Essie.com is much more greyish than real life.
You know how hard it was to find a cream purple color that doesnt clash with my skintone? Bleh I still love this color A LOT. 2 coats to perfection. See all the chippings? That's because they are taken on the 10th day since application (I am very surprised too!) The last picture is to show you the worn-out-ness of the color, really really not bad for 10 days taking into account that I am so rough with my nails (occupation: farmer). Isn't the color gorgeous?

Or if you own Pretty Girl Type from the MAC new Quite Cute Collection, could you leave a comment and direct me to the link? I'd love to see the comparison!

What are your spring nail colors?

Have a great weekend!

New Hair Color | Kao Liese Bubble Color in Mocha Orange Review

Not too long ago I had my review on the Kao Prettia Hair Dye in Glossy Brown. Can any gurus tell me what is the difference between Prettia and Liese? Everything came within is exactly the same (and I didn't even notice they have different names until I started taking pictures for this post-_-)

This is my 3rd box of bubble dye. I have skipped doing the review on the one called Marshmallow Brown. Pretty much similar to the previous review, I chose Mocha Orange this time praying that my hair would not turn out as orange as the model's hair on the box - I aimed to bring out the warmer brown tones of my hair for welcoming this spring and summer!

Easy steps)

Curious of how I do it?

with and sans flash pictures:
Before
Viola! Without & with flash
(bright orangy brown color... SO PRETTY! with my heart shaped face, literally lol)

After 2 weeks
(please ignore my face-_-)

To sum up:
Pros:
((Perfect for newbies like me!))
True to color
Super easy to apply
Evenly coated without much skills
Fun to use
Feasible

Cons:
Not readily available

So these pictures are taken 2 weeks so as you can see the color is already a little worn off :( but I am still really happy with the result. At first I was a little skeptical about the ORANGE-ness but thank god it only brings out the warm brown tone of my hair. Perhaps this it my 3rd time using this bubble dye, my hair seems to be used to the damage from the dye. My hair was rather duller after last dye but this time it does not occur to me as a problem :) I love it!

Never-ending New York-ness!

You nosy ones have probably already figured that I had spent my last 2 weekends in New York City in a row. I know it wasn't too long ago when I had my last trip to the city.

The 1st weekend - My best friend Tedi visited moi from Oregon! We have been best friends ever since those tough cold months in Beijing. With her crazy trip in Vegas and the super weird cold but sunny New England weather, I am proud to say we had yet covered a lot of places in Boston!

Duck tour, Government Center, Faneuil Hall, Quincey Market, Harvard Square, MIT, Newbury Street (3 times caz I live so close haha)...
South End

Boston, MA 02118
Stephi's is the sister restaurant of Stephanie's on Newbury but 10 times better. My friends constantly go back to this place for their steaks. Since Tedi and I just had snacks on Newbury right before dinner (Poor choice we know...), we split the scallop dish which was cooked perfectly! Desserts were really good too!
fudgy brownie bread pudding with hot fudge, crème anglaise and
vanilla ice crea
apple cobbler - with oatmeal streusel topping and vanilla ice cream
As we are eating dinner with my friends, madly insane how everyone agreed to come to drive to New York City with us! We left literally 2 hours from dinner LOL we even passed by Foxwoods Casino on the way. Leaving Boston at 11pm, Casino at 4am, we died when we got to New York City at 7am!! We have made it with a full day schedule!

Central Park, Fifth Ave, Soho, MOMA, Times Square, Little Italy, Chinatown, Battery Park for Statue of Liberty!

Our trip ended so soon as we had so much fun traveling together! Hope to catch her in California in May <3

The 2nd weekend in New York City was a plan my friends and I had planned for quite a long time ago. One of our friends was originally going to come visit from San Diego but he was not able make it. While couple other friends are working and interning in the city, we decided to still get together :)

On Friday, I decided to come early last minute (again! lol) to see a friend. The hotel was excellent. My favourite part was the circle light mirror in the bathroom. That thing is the sh*t! Why? Because I found out it's anti-fog after taking a mad long shower. Bitach I got dolled up without a doubt!

On Saturday I went to Ippudo for lunch before meeting up with other friends! Not sure if you have heard about it but Ippudo has always had the longest waiting lines... simply because they really offer the best ramen on earth! The ones I have had in Japan can't even beat this!
65 Forth Avenue
Akamaru Modern
The original tonkotsu' soup noodle with Ippudo's special sauce, pork belly chashu, cabage, kikurage, scallions, miso paste & fragrant garlic oil

Best ramen (literally!) I have had in my life! Indulged in the rich meat flavored broth, every bite of the heavenly in house made chewy elastic fresh ramen was so delicate! SO GOOD!!!!

Then my friends and I met up and we went to SOHO to shop around. It was tooo crowded so we went back to her apartment to take naps (much needed!!) At night we went to this Chinese owned Japanese Restaurant called Azuki then to this bar called Pianos. It was a lot of fun with tons of inside stories that might not be very appropriate to tell here :P
I looked soooo gross-_-

Anyway on Sunday we went to this place that my friend Alex had talked about ALL weekend long that he found on this website called iheartbrunch.com LOL food was soso but the view overlooking Empire State Building was amazing! On the roof top of a building, they also provide red ropes which look and function 85% like snuggies. Oh we look so cute in it!

So much fun!!! It's always great to see old friends :) But now I am back in Boston tired and feeling old fml.

Oh and don't forget to check out Tedi's blog! She is super sweet and knows a lot about makeup! She just started her blog on blogspot and please show her some blogger love just like what you have been giving me!
